An encounter with racism a few weeks ago

Okay I have a story. A few weeks ago Robert came home and we decided to get together with friends and relatives to go to the movies. It was cool ya know. Afterwards Queenie, Robert and myself decided to go to Denny's u know for a late night-early morning bite. Queenie and I decided we would wait in the car for Robert to get to the Denny's we were at (which I might add was in a mostly white suburb). WHile waiting a white man pulled in the space next my car. when Rob finally arrived he got out of his car and stood in front of the car next to ours so that we could get out and go in the restaurant. As we were getting out of the car we noticed that there was something beeping, and it turned out to be the guy that pulled in the space next to us locking his car, in an attempt, I assume, to prevent Rob from thinking about touching, robbing, or looking funny at his car. To make matters worse, after we had been seated and orered our food a police cruiser pulled into the parking lot and unneccessarily sat in front of our cars and the front door for an unneeded amount of time. This is just another clear example of how blatant racism still exists in today's society because obviously a young black man cannot stand around a white man's new car without wanting to an illegal act. Holla at me!!

Madness

Okay you guys you know that I always try to stay up on the news back home in tha Land (Cleveland). I just read a story on the newspaper's website that a rapper named "Crackbaby" was killed early Monday morning. Now don't get me wrong, I have sympathy for the man's family and I am always upset when a young life is taken. But his rap name was "Crackbaby"!!! Now I love my black folks but "Crackbaby" thats the best name that he could come up with! This just goes to show why I had to get away from that place and people like that. Granted I can't say that everyone is like that but young black Clevelanders just don't have a clue about a lot of things and naming yourself "Crackbaby" in aspirations of becoming a famous rapper is just not smart. And the thing that I hate about it is that he was going to school to be a paralegal so he had realisitic aspirations. Thats the thing I don't get, we are so intelligent and yet when trying to step out into the fore we resort back to "shucking and jiving" (and yes I said it again Decipher). "Crackbaby"... I fear for our future. Holla.
